Transition Programs

Kindergarten Transition

Beginning school is one of the most significant transitions in a child’s life. We take this seriously. Our Kindergarten transition programme ensures that every child’s developmental achievements are known and understood before they even walk through our doors, allowing teaching to be personalised and responsive from the very first days. Children begin their Siena journey feeling safe, excited and ready to learn.

The Buddy Program pairs Year 4 students with kindergarten children to assist their settling into school. The buddy takes special care of the younger child as they settle into school life. This program also gives our Year 4 students the opportunity to step into roles that build real responsibility, empathy and care for others.

Transition to the Senior Campus – A Seamless K–12 Journey

One of the most powerful advantages of the St Bernardine Junior Campus is what it connects your child to: a seamless, coherent learning journey all the way through to Year 12. The values, faith culture, wellbeing frameworks and pedagogical approaches your child experiences in Kindergarten are the same ones that will accompany them through their years at Siena Catholic College.

Activities and programs connect the two campuses so that students develop a strong sense of belonging to the whole College. Our structured and supportive Year 4 transition program allows our junior students to transition with confidence to the Senior Campus when the time comes.
