Junior Campus
Teaching & Learning
Children in Kindergarten to Year 4 are in a remarkable period of growth. They are developing foundational literacy and numeracy, forming friendships, discovering their curiosity, and beginning to understand who they are. Our Junior Campus is tailored to support and celebrate this stage of life.
Our specialist teachers focus exclusively on foundation years pedagogy, bringing expertise in early literacy, numeracy, play-based and inquiry learning to ensure every child is known, supported and extended. Here, your child is never just one face in a crowd, but a valued individual with their own story, gifts and potential.
A cornerstone of our literacy programme is InitiaLit, an evidence-based, structured literacy program developed by MultiLit. This three-year whole-class programme runs from Foundation to Year 2 and gives every child the essential knowledge and strong foundations to become a confident and successful reader and writer. Through a systematic and explicit approach to phonics, vocabulary, oral language and comprehension, InitiaLit ensures that every child builds the skills they need to thrive throughout their entire learning journey.
Knowing Every Learner
At Siena Junior Campus, we use a range of evidence-based assessments to build a clear and detailed understanding of each student’s learning journey. These assessments create a comprehensive profile of every learner, enabling teachers to tailor learning experiences so that each student can flourish.
