Extra-Curricular
We believe that learning extends well beyond the classroom. Our rich and varied extra-curricular program gives every child the opportunity to discover new passions, develop their talents, and build lasting friendships in a supportive environment. From creative arts and STEM to sport, there is something for every young learner to explore and enjoy.
Students will have opportunities to get involved in the following on-site extra-curricular activities:
Band and Music Lessons – Years 3-4
Teaching Services Australia provides private music tuition lessons at school for students in Years 3-4 interested in joining the school band. No prior instrument or music experience is necessary. Throughout the year, band students showcase their talents in concerts and assemblies, providing opportunities to perform for peers and families, fostering a love for music and a sense of achievement.
Drama – All Ages
MSTYP (Marian St Theatre for Young People) provide drama classes led by professional teaching artists in a supportive, inclusive space, where your child will build the kind of confidence that shows up everywhere – in the classroom, at home and beyond.
Dance – All Ages
Dance Element Studios has been developing dancers for 36 years, and is known for its community atmosphere, where students thrive in the friendly, positive and inclusive environment. Dance classes offered at Siena Junior College include Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary and Hip Hop. Students also perform at the end of year concert.
STEM – Years 1-4
Young Engineers provides students interested in Engineering, Robotics, Coding programs designed to spark curiosity, grow confidence, and empower children through hands-on STEM learning. Using LEGO® bricks, robotics kits, and real-world situations, children are challenged to think critically, build creatively, and collaborate with purpose.
Basketball Skills Clinic – All Ages
Steel Basketball Academy provides young players with a structured training program to improve, compete, and progress their skills through training and real game-based development. This program not only teaches young players the fundamentals to grow and develop their game, but also the discipline, work ethic, and resilience that is pervasive of all areas of their developing life.
