Pastoral Care & Wellbeing

At Siena Catholic College’s St Bernardine Junior Campus, the wellbeing of every child is at the heart of everything we do. We believe children learn best when they feel safe, known, and genuinely cared for, and our pastoral care framework is designed to ensure every student experiences a strong sense of belonging from their very first day.

All staff share responsibility for pastoral care, working together to support each child’s academic, social, emotional and spiritual development. From our specially designed Kindergarten transition program through to the senior primary years, trusted relationships with dedicated teachers, mentor groups and dedicated wellbeing leaders provide the nurturing foundation children need to thrive.

Our wellbeing program is developmentally tailored to the needs of younger learners, equipping children with the skills and confidence to navigate life with resilience and integrity. Through everyday experiences and explicit teaching, students learn about respectful relationships, positive decision-making, self-awareness and personal growth in a warm and supportive environment.

As a Catholic community, our approach to wellbeing is grounded in faith. Inspired by our core values of Joy, Faith, Witness, Compassion, and Courage, we nurture the whole child. We encourage each student to grow in kindness, confidence and a strong sense of purpose. We partner closely with families, walking alongside every child to ensure they are supported, valued and encouraged to flourish academically, socially and spiritually. We do this from their very first day at Siena.
