Student Leadership

Foundation Years: Planting the seeds of human flourishing

At St Bernardine Campus, we believe that every child is already a leader. From Kindergarten, students are invited into a rich world of leadership experiences, rotating roles such as Prayer Leader, Witness Helper, and Compassion Buddy. Each role is carefully designed to grow the five core competencies that shape a flourishing life:

  • Acting in the World
  • Adaptive Problem-Solving
  • Ethical Competence
  • Understanding the World
  • Appreciating the World

These experiences are always rooted in our five Catholic values of Joy, Faith, Witness, Compassion, and Courage, and are woven into the rhythm of everyday school life, not saved for special occasions. By Year 4, students are the senior leaders of St Bernardine Campus, paired with kindergarten students as Compassion Buddies and stepping into roles that build real responsibility, empathy and care for others.

The foundations planted here grow with your child across their whole Siena journey. Through the Emerging Leaders years of the Middle Campus, where agency, purpose and responsibility deepen, and into the Leading with Impact years of St Catherine Campus, where students contribute to the life of the college and the world beyond it, living our values in action.
