Junior Campus

Prayer & Liturgical Life

Prayer is the heartbeat of St Bernardine Junior Campus. From the first moments of each school day to the final blessing at the end of the week, the life of our community is held together by a rhythm of prayer, worship and encounter with the God who loves us.

The Liturgical Calendar

Our campus life follows the sacred rhythm of the Church’s liturgical year. Advent and Christmas, Lent and Easter, Pentecost and the feasts of the saints, these seasons and celebrations shape our community calendar and give our days a larger, sacred meaning. Children come to understand that they are part of a story much bigger than themselves: the story of God’s love for the world.

Special liturgical moments such as the beginning of the school year mass, Ash Wednesday, Holy Week, the feast of St Bernardine (20 May), NAIDOC Week, Remembrance Day, and the end-of-year thanksgiving mass, are marked with care, beauty and full student participation. Families are warmly invited to join us for these celebrations.

School Masses and Liturgies

Regular Masses and Liturgies of the Word are central to our campus spiritual life. Religious Education will be a comprehensive area of study, and prayer and religious gatherings are regular features of our school calendar. Different classes take turns planning and leading these celebrations, developing students’ capacity to participate actively and meaningfully in the worship of the Church, as readers, gift bearers, musicians and leaders of prayer.

Our campus maintains a close and life-giving connection with the Pymble Catholic Parish. Families are welcomed to Parish Family Masses throughout the year.

Sacramental Preparation

St Bernardine Junior Campus accompanies families through their children’s sacramental journey. Working in close partnership with the Pymble Catholic Parish, we support students and families as they prepare for the Sacraments of Confirmation (Year 3), Reconciliation (Year 4) and First Eucharist (Year 4). These are significant, joyful milestones for each child and their family.

Youth Ministry and Spirituality Days

All students will enjoy the opportunity to participate in Youth Ministry activities, social justice initiatives and spirituality days across the year. These age-appropriate experiences deepen students’ faith, strengthen their sense of community and invite them to encounter God in new and meaningful ways.
